The use of hands in some form is very common on grave memorials. Symbol of leaving. Hand pointing downward - mortality or sudden death. (Possibly a depiction of a secret Masonic handshake.)

The necklace was packaged well and arrived in good time. The quality is acceptable. I was hoping it would be a "solid" hand, but it is "hollow" on the reverse side. It is still a nice necklace and I look forward to wearing it.
